NonProfit Preservation Allies
Cal trout is a non-profit organization based San Francisco that is concerned with protecting and restoring the health of California trout species and their habitats. They are active in community outreach programs, legislation guidance, scientific studies, and other initiatives which have had tremendous positive results in reducing and eradicating hazards to threatened species such as the McCloud redband trout, and the Silver Creek Paiute Cutthroat trout. If only we had this momentum before the Bull trout became extinct in California.. last seen on the McCloud river 1975.

This is the DFG page that has the regulations booklets. Click on the "2009 Fresh Water Sport Fishing Regulation Booklet to open up the PDF version of THE booklet to find out open fishing seasons, bag limits, and other special regulations for every waterway in California.
US Forest Service Region 5 - Southwest Pacific Region including California
This site has interactive topo maps and really great information about Parks and National Forest lands
This is the official website for the artwork of Joseph Tomelleri - the reigning genius of Trout Species Illustrations. Available are beautiful calendars, prints etc etc. Check out Oncorhynchus mykiss newberrii. Awesome.

Scott Stratton is one of the finest and most patient guides I know. He has consistently put us on fish in the Trinity River every year. He has 20 years plus on the Trinity, Sacramento, Klamath and other Shasta-Trinity fisheries. You will get fish, you will get pictures.
Bob Norman is another guide we like to use along with Scot and George Durand. Bob won last years MVP for practically diving under a tree with my rod to keep a big Steelie on my line. We landed him too (the Steelie, not Bob)!
